This is where you become a bit more familiar with me and my poetry by listening to and viewing the messages that have enlightened my life.
Please remember that it is best to listen with your eyes and look with your heart. That is when you truly start to see the elegance of a spider spinning his web.
Let us together spin a web of Light around ourselves and all those around us.
THE INVITATION OF THE MOSQUE
I stepped out of myself
and onto the street
from a far
I saw a mosque
it was not prayer time
but I felt The Call with closed eyes
and open heart
I started to breath in The Call
It was quiet
so quiet in the gentle mist of the night
but I know I heard
Allah
LOOKING AT MY SAME LIFE WITH NEW EYES
When I pretend to look I stop seeing.
There are waves in the ocean with no sound.
I breath in, but with every breath out I release more uncertainty and more doubt.
The breeze felt by the corpse, by the white bird and on my skin.
The truth held in the breeze.
The truth can be warm and beautiful.
The breeze today is daunting but not frightening.
It is the same sea I walked in last year.
The same shore I marked with my foot steps with my dreams and doubts.
But today with every step my foot goes in twice as deep as last year, but comes out with ease.
What is the truth in my heavy step.
Is it all that I have collected in my heart or all that I’ve released from the web of lies that gives me this weight.
Still in search but now I feel each and every step, each and every breath.
Stop me from Jumping over the Bridge of Life with ONE WORD
This video is based on a journal of poetry about seventy or eighty verses long, I had just started to wonder about the ONE WORD that would stop one from jumping over the bridge of life. And truly, I did not know what the word would be until the last moment that i wrote it. Here are a few of the verses, some of which are represented in this video.
This story all began in search of the one word that would make one not fall even if they jump
The one word must not differentiate between class and color
We are flying over a sea which holds millions and millions of lives
of people who have jumped over the Bridge of life
Does the sea carry the one word or is the sea the one word I seek
So we go back once again to the one word which would save a life at any time if in despair
The healing word which rescues a wounded heart and an empty soul
Do you know what this word could be
Yes indeed now I do have a sense
that there would be a truth in the word that gives hope and vision
That makes one forget the past and look ahead
With one instantaneous decision one is making all the past disappear
but even more so all the future to never appear
If there was a person on a bridge trying to rid themselves of the realities of life
what would be the one word you would say
A word that would encompass Past Now and Future
A word that would mean hope without saying hope
A word that says look ahead and looking forward
A word with stability and no vulnerability
Yes the word is all encompassing of what is light and bright to come
The word is
TOMORROW!! : )
CELL EMPTY OF LIGHT
The Video below a documentation of a wonderful evening of recitations, music and singing. The evening was based upon one a journal called “The Writing on the Wall Meant Nothing to Me”. Basically, the story of me when I woke up one day not sure where I was and why I was there. My audience were my cell mates. Enjoy this intriguing story and ask yourself what would be the writing you would leave on the wall.
CELL EMPTY OF LIGHT – At the Pavilion, Dubai
Interesting how one can find oneself in a Cell Empty of Light time after time. This time I found myself in Dubai at the Pavilion Down Town, in a small audotorium. My cell mates sat on comfortable bean bag type of chairs and I stood in front of the group with our wonderful Emma on Violin as we started to tell about my time in a jail cell and the discovery of the writing on the wall.
The words flowed as if off the walls of the universe and into the space. The audience were captured and the music brougth everything to life. The wonderful voice of So Young once again gave wings to the Angel Who Lost His Wings.
We were fortunate to have Jamal reciting poetry and Mina accompanying with live sound.
The evening was truly a great success, I can comfortably say that since everyone stayed around for a long time afterward in the garden at the Pavillion. Let us see when I might find myself in a jail cell once again.
