To say that I am a Poet. To tell you that I am an Iranian-American, born in Iran and raised in the US after the revolution of 1979. To tell you that I am the youngest of six and currently live with my husband and two teenage daughters in Abu Dhabi. To tell you that my education was in business and counseling psychology and PhD in Educational Psychology, with some years of teaching experience at university and business experience running my own design business. To tell you all that and more stuff about me. What am I saying and what are you learning about me?
But now to tell you that I am a speck of dust in the hour glass of the Universe. And to tell you I was born out of the seed of the universe and have been in gestation for billions of years. To tell you that I am neither the youngest or the oldest but just one of the siblings among the billions of humans in the world and just a ray of light among the species of the world. Now I might be telling you about me.
To tell you that I have had a light experience which has connected me with the web of rays of light in the universe and I see myself as a bridge among people of all nations and cultures. That is painting a clearer picture of my identity. To tell you that when I see the harsh realities of the suffering men on the street working to pay for their families’ lives, may it be the man washing dozens of cars in the heat of the day or the man driving his fancy car away. There are moments of truth that I feel each of their pains and I feel a stabbing in my chest that hurts but does not bleed.
To tell you that I feel the pain of my sisters in the world that are being sexually, mentally and physically abused in the world, tells you that I am awake and aware.
It is through my writings and my words that I paint pictures of what I see and sense. It is through the light that is shed through my writings that I want to connect with you, and connect you to me. Thank you for coming into my life and allowing me to come into yours. Let us together build a more beautiful web in the world that can help us touch and connect with each other. May it be with your mother or child, or with the lady bug visiting your garden of life today.
Hello, my name is Bahareh and I know yours is a ray of light in my life.
